In the latest episode of “Once Upon a Time” Season 4, Episode 7 “The Snow Queen,” we learned the whole story behind the Snow Queen. It gave us a much better idea to fully understand why she’s doing such evil things. Read on for the full recap.

Ingrid, Helga and Greta were sisters. Back when they were still young, someone tried to kidnap them, but Ingrid saved her sisters by revealing her powers. The sisters made a pact that they are going to stick together, and to seal this vow, they shared yellow ribbons. While they were growing up, Ingrid was very much an introvert because she’s afraid to show her powers; and at the same tim,e she’s afraid that she might not be able to control it.

Greta, who wanted to be with her sister and enjoy the outside, told her that there’s a sorcerer who can help her, and they went to see Rumple in the Enchanted Forest. He warned them that a sisterly love is the most powerful, but Ingrid didn’t want to have it and insisted that he help them. So she gave him the three yellow ribbons in exchanged for gloves to protect her powers and an urn to trap herself just in case her powers gets out of control.

All things were going well until Helga’ suitor, a duke, tried to make a move on Ingrid. Ingrid was shocked with what the duke wanted to do with her, so she pushed him away. However, her powers were revealed. The duke was so freaked out that he went to Helga and told her a different story, saying that Ingrid tried to make a move on him instead. Helga didn’t believe him, and he tried to hurt her. Luckily, Ingrid was there. However, Helga got the full force of her powers because the duke was able to get away. Helga froze to death in her arms, and Greta, Elsa and Anna’s mother, found them in that position and was so angry and blamed Ingrid for the death of Helga. She trapped her in the urn and then went to Grand Pabbie to remove the memories of Helga and Ingrid.

In the present time, the Snow Queen was captured by Emma, but she intentionally got herself captured so she can play some mind tricks on her because she desperately wants to create a new family. She played mind games with Elsa first, and she fell for it. Then she tried it on Emma, but Emma wouldn’t have it. Emma walked away, and she started to really freak out that her power was revealing itself.

The Snow Queen visited Rumple again to make him a deal because she needs the yellow ribbons back, but Rumple didn’t want to give it to her just yet until she offered him something. We wonder what could be the offer as Rumple seems pleased.

Robin Hood, on the other hand, just won’t give up on Regina. He made that clear to Regina while Regina was getting frustrated because she couldn’t get the happy ending that she wants.
