Lana Parilla wants to see more Disney characters in Once Upon A Time Season 7. In a recent interview, the actor revealed hopes of seeing a showdown between the Evil Queen and Darth Vader in the rebooted series.

Star Wars Once Upon A Time Crossover

Once Upon A Time is set in a world where fairy tale characters co-exist in one place. Every season, fans saw their favorite Disney Princesses like Cinderella, Rapunzel, Mulan, Jasmine, Merida, Anna and Elsa grace the small screen. They also witnessed the studio’s most popular villains like Maleficent, Wicked Witch of the West, Hades, Jafar, Cruella de Vil, and Ursula bring trouble to the small but magical town of Storybrooke. Naturally, loyal viewers are hopeful that more Disney characters will make their way to the small screen.

However, while the studio still has a vast arsenal of animated characters to bring to life in future episodes of Once Upon A Time, Parilla is already looking past fairy tales and into other properties of Disney. In an interview with Gold Derby, the actor revealed that she wants her character the Evil Queen to face off with the most powerful villain in a galaxy far, far away: Darth Vader.

“I think that we should somehow incorporate Star Wars,” she told the site. “I think that [co-creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis] are huge Star Wars fans, and if there was a way to bring Darth Vader in, that would be cool.”

Disney’s Other Worlds Explored?

Parilla’s wish to see Darth Vader and other Star Wars characters in Once Upon A Time Season 7 might not be impossible. The sci-fi franchise is, of course, now under Disney after the studio bought Lucasfilm in 2012 for $4 billion. The television series which airs on the Disney-owned channel ABC, would not have that big of a problem bringing beloved characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Leia Organa to the small screen.

On the story standpoint, a crossover can also work. The sixth season saw the lead characters step into different worlds hinting of a bigger universe outside of Storybrooke. That said, it is not impossible for the Evil Queen to cross paths with Darth Vader at some point.

Moreover, a crossover between Once Upon A Time and Star Wars will also open doors for other characters from Disney-owned franchises. Just imagine the likes of Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and even Thanos walking into the series to challenge the Evil Queen (Parilla) Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) and Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle).

The appearance of other well-known characters aside from fairy tale princes and princesses would definitely herald a fresh new look for the series. After six seasons, the drama had a soft reboot which saw the departure of several fan-favorites like Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Jared Gilmore, Rebecca Mader and others.

Bringing established fictional characters into the series will definitely help boost the ratings. In the meantime, there are still plenty of animated characters who are yet to appear in Once Upon A Time. A few months ago, many speculated that Moana might arrive in Season 7.

Once Upon A Time Season 7 will begin filming in July, according to a report by iBTimes. Also joining the next installment of the popular fairy tale drama are Andrew J. West as an older Henry and his daughter Lucy to be played by Alison Fernandez. ABC is yet to announce an exact premiere date as of this writing, but new episodes are expected to be released later this year. Meanwhile, the eventful Season 6 will go live on Netflix this summer.
