Once Upon A Time is going back to Storybrooke one last time in Season 7. According to showrunners Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the upcoming installment, which will only see a handful of the core characters return for new adventures, will also explore what happened to beloved characters such as Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), Belle French (Emilie de Ravin), Zelena (Rebecca Mader) and Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison).

Return To Storybrooke

After Storybrooke, Agrabah, Wonderland and the realms have been restored, Regina (Lana Parilla) and the rest of the remaining characters are off to a new adventure in Once Upon A Time Season 7. At the final moment, a little girl knocks on a door to a small apartment, introduces herself as Lucy (Alison Fernandez) and tells the man that she is his daughter. And, with that, a new fairy tale adventure begins.

While the events of the finale, tagged as “The Final Battle,” happened years ago when Season 7 premieres later this year, the fairy tale drama will be able to revisit some fan favorites in the upcoming episodes. In an interview with EW, show creators Kitsis and Horrowitz confirmed that the new season will also explain the absence of the departed cast members.

“Absolutely,” Kitsis responded when asked if fans will be able to find out what happened to their favorites. Horowitz added, “[y]eah, we fully intend to do that.”

While there is not much to go on from their recent statements, it confirms that the series will not just scrap its six-year history. The upcoming season will explore in some capacity the events that transpired before the time jump.

This could also open the possibilities for Snow White, Prince Charming, Belle and the other characters to appear in future episodes in flashbacks or in brand new adventures. After all, everyone is keen to come back and reprise their roles if the story calls for them.

Morrison has already signed up to appear in one episode so it looks like her presence will be felt in the new season despite her exit. She will likely appear in the season premiere to perhaps say goodbye to her Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) who will stay on the show for the next chapter.

Once Upon A Time Season 7 Premiere Episode

Last week, ahead of the seventh season’s production, Horowitz shared the title of the upcoming premiere episode. It is called Hyperion Heights and here is what it could mean.

TV Guide pointed out that Hyperion in Greek mythology was one of the 12 children of Gaia, Mother of Earth, and Uranus, Father of the Heavens. He is called the Father of Heavenly Lights because of his three children: Helios (Sun), Selene (Moon) and Eos (Dawn).

The site pointed out that the show will unlikely feature Hyperion (and other characters from mythology) in the new season. The title might be referring to Hyperion Ave., the location of Disney’s base of operation until 1939.

Once Upon A Time is moving away from Storybrooke in Season 7 and Hyperion Heights might be a name of the building (much like Angel‘s Hyperion Hotel) where the adult Henry Mills (Andrew J. West) now reside. After all, now that Emma has saved all fairy tale realms, his son inherits the title of hero. West’s Henry Mills is the in the lead and his home in Hyperion Heights could be the new base of operation in Season 7 and beyond.

The upcoming season will also star Robert Carlyle’s Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin. Once Upon A Time Season 7 is set to premiere this Fall on ABC.
