On Friday, November 13, One Direction released their new album, “Made in the A.M.” Some of their fans are still in denial about the band’s extended hiatus, but it’s time to face the facts. E! News reported that the international pop sensation might be on hiatus for not only a year, but two.
It was Liam Payne, 22, who accidentally spilled the shocking information during the band’s BBC Radio 1 Interview. Of course, the revelation made their fans go crazy.
“We haven’t really had time to write an album and whereas two years of…” Payne said.
“Writing’s not really a job. It’s so much fun, we’ve always had to rush it. So it’s nice in these two years I’m going to write some songs and see what happens,” he continued.
Payne kind of confirmed that there will be 2 Directionless years for everyone. Did he just revealed a secret that the other boys are yet to share?
During the same BBC Radio 1 Interview, the boys insisted that they are not going to officially split up. They said that they are just going to take some time to focus on their solo projects. Louis Tomlinson, 23, said that he will be working on his own record label. He also added that he will still collaborate with his bandmates when it comes to songwriting.
“We’ll probably team up and do a bit of writing together. I’m going to take over the world of music and Niall’s becoming a golf pro,” Tomlinson jokingly said.
In their recent interview with The Xtra Factor, the group revealed that they enjoyed making “Made in the A.M.” more than any of their other albums.

“It was more enjoyable in a sense because we had a bit more time. We had two or three months at the start of the year where we planned that was the writing time and we wouldn’t normally have that much time,” Tomlinson said.
“I feel like we were in love with the songs before we even kicked off recording. I’ve been listening to them non-stop,” Payne added.
Niall Horan, 22, also talked about the things that the band were looking forward to. “The one thing we’re looking forward to – obviously we’ve been touring for the last five years – it’s going to be nice to go home and see your friends and family,” he shared.
