One Direction return to Saturday Night Live on Dec. 7, and they looked amazing while nailing their SNL performance on the popular show.
1D first appeared on Saturday Night Live on Apr. 7, 2012 when they looked like little boys decked out in colorful slacks – but this time, they were full-grown men, looked more confident and comfortable rocking the stage with their hit songs from the new album “Midnight Memories.”
In sleek suits, the boys of 1D – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik – kicked off their with “Story of My Life.” Each guy took his turn at lead vocals, sounded on point, and sang with real passion, and blew the small SNL audience away.
Without costume changes, 1D sang their second song, “Through the Dark.” Standing in a semi-circle, One Direction guys really harmonized for their folksy hit while taking time to allow each member to take a quick solo. With their place behind microphone stands, each member appeared to be loving the sentimental touch of the background music.
One Direction have always been amazing in their performance, there’s no doubt to it – but watching them on the SNL stage once again when they’re three albums into their career and have become the biggest band in the world, it really comes out to be something special that explains how quickly they’ve grown up!
