One Direction, who stole heart with their debut album “Up All Night” are currently busy promoting their fifth album “Made in the A.M.” Things don’t look very good for the band members, though! They are going on a two years break but promise to come back.
Since, Zayn Malik’s departure from the band on Mar. 25, 2015, band members Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and, Louis Tomlinson had been struggling to keep up. Recent launch, “Made in the A.M.” was supposed to be a comeback for the rest 4 band members but looking like it’s the last.
Horan although confirms that One Directioners won’t be releasing singles, but he is not really sure about it. In conversation with Metro, Horan said, “Unless someone’s lying to me, there are no solo projects lined up. We love what we do and I don’t think anyone’s got any hidden agendas.”
Talking about his future and break plans, Payne said that he is not looking to write songs in his breaks. He seems to be utilising this break to write songs.
“We haven’t really had time to write an album and whereas two years off…Writing’s not really a job, it’s so much fun. We’ve always had to rush it so it’s nice in these two years I’m going to write some songs and see what happens.” Payne told SugarScape.
All four band members confirmed that the break would be to spend time with family and touring.
Boy Band debut album “Up All Night” had so far sold 2.05 million copies in U.S. and is the first boy band album to sell 500,000 digital copies in the U.S. One Direction’s second album “Take Me Home” sold 5 million copies, next album “Midnight Memories” made record sale of 4 million copies in just 5 weeks of release. 1D 2014 album “Four” sold 3.2 million copies.
