Another year has come and gone for ‘The X Factor’ alumni band One Direction, with flying colors. And for member Zayn Malik, he starts off the first month of the year by celebrating his 22nd birthday.
On Monday, Jan.12, 2015, Malik celebrated his 22nd birthday. Fans and friends went to their respective social media sites to greet the singer for his birthday.
In addition to this, some of his fans made the day special by giving donations to the British Asian Trust, in which Malik is a patron for. All in all, they were able to make it to the target amount of more than $10,000. Malik then posted this achievement on Twitter and thanked everyone involved in the donations.

Along with his fellow One Directions members, Malik was declared by Forbes to be one of the second-highest earning celebrities under 30. They were also named by Billboard as the top artist of the year.
In November 2014, One Direction has released their fourth album, aptly naming it “Four,” and they are reportedly working on their fifth one. They also wrapped up their first stadium tour called the “Where We Are” tour in October 2014.
Aside from his music career, Malik’s love life is also quite successful, thanks to his beloved fiancée, Perrie Edwards, a member of girl group Little Mix. But, like every couple, they also weren’t immune to scandals. Just recently, a nude photo scandal involving Malik and Edwards made the news, though it hasn’t been confirmed yet if it is true.
In addition, there have been talks of Malik thinking over the idea of going solo. He has been seen recently hanging out with artist and music producer Naughty Boy, often in his London studio. Claims say that he is currently working on his debut solo album and is planning to release it this year.
