Stephanie Plum (Katherine Heigl), jobless and broke, turns to her disreputable cousin Vinnie, of Vinnie’s Bail Bonds, for a job. With no skill-set, training or equipment, she goes on to become a bail enforcement agent, close on the heels of Vinnie’s highest bail jumper Joe Morelli, a former vice cop who is being wanted by the law for murder. He is also the one who seduced and dumped Stephanie back in high school.

Apart from this chase to finish, Stephanie has to cope with family problems, a tricky inclination of witnesses to die when she is about to close the case and bounty hunting lessons from the mysterious Ranger (Daniel Sunjata). When she finally catches up to Morelli, she realizes that there is something, something just does not seem to add up. In addition, Stephanie seems to be falling in love again with the old flame. Will Stephanie make her mind over the heart, and turn in Joe Morelli? Will she be able to nab the real murderer?

Katherine Heigi has done many films like as Knocked Up, Zyzzyx Road, 27 Dresses, The Ugly Truth, Killers, Life As We Know It and New Year’s Eve but the most famous role of hers was Dr. Izzie Stevens on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy from 2005 to 2010, for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress – Drama Series in 2007. Jason O’ Mara, the Irish actor is known for his role in American TV dramas like Life on Mars and In Justice.

Janet Evaovich the novelist had grimaced that Tri-Star had purchased the rights to her novel a good 13 years ago but nothing had been done for quite a lot of time. Finally on February 2010, it was announced that Katherine Heigi had been roped to play the role of Stephanie Punn. Two months later, Lions Gate Entertainment offered to distribute the film and coproduce the venture along wiyth Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. The same month, it was announced to the media that Julie Ann Robinson of ‘The Last Song’ fame would direct the film.

The production part was shot in Metropolitan Pittsburg from July to early September 2010. The major part of the film started from July 2010 in Ambridge, Beaver County and other six different places in the town. The movie has a running time of 107 minutes and was made in a budget of $40 million. The critical reception has been mostly on the negative side, with critics mostly panning the film.
