This year, the spots for The Oscar Nominees for Best Actor/Actress were filled with the some of the industry’s most talented and most loved. The roles the actors played were colorful and hearty, each one deserving to bring home the award. But as there can be only one winner, it’s time to talk about where each of them shone: the Red Carpet.
For Best Actor, the nominees were Leonardo DiCaprio in “The Revenant,” Eddie Redmay in “The Danish Girl,” Michael Fassbender in “Steve Jobs,” Bryan Cranston in “Trumbo,” and Matt Damon, for his role in “The Martian.”
Leonardo Dicaprio, who won his first Oscar this year, wore a classic tuxedo by Giorgio Armani Made to Measure, and Christian Louboutin shoes.
Eddie Redmay wore a velvet tuxedo by Alexander McQueen.
Michael Fassbender, who walked the red carpet alone, as girlfriend Alicia Vikander brought her parents, wore a clean tux by Tom Ford.
Bryan Cranston, best known for his role on “Breaking Bad,” strutted on the red carpet alone, with his wife Robin Dearden. He was dressed in Burberry.
The last nominee for Best Actor was Matt Damon, who also brought his wife, Luciana Barosso. Damon wore a Versace tux.
The Best Actress Nominees for this year were Brie Larson in “Room”, Jennifer Lawrence for “Joy,” Cate Blanchett in “Carol,” Charlotte Rampling in “45 Years,” and Saoire Ronan for her role in “Brooklyn.”
This year’s winner, Brie Larson, wore a blue Gucci gown, which was ruffled all the way to her train. To finish off the look, she put on a jeweled belt.
Jennifer Lawrence looked stunning in a sheer Dior gown. The neckline was plunging, and the skirt was adorned in black feathers.
In an Armani Prive number, Cate Blanchett, once again, proved that age is just a number. Her gown sea-foam color, and had floral details.
Following controversy over her earlier comments on the racism in the Oscars, Charlotte Rampling arrived at the ceremony in a low-key ensemble. The 70-year-old nominee wore a muted toned sequinned dress, which had long sleeves and a high neckline.
Saoire Ronan wowed everyone when she stepped onto the Red Carpet. She wore an emerald Calvin Klein gown, covered in sequins.
