Oscars 2014 News: Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron Hint at the Highlights of the 86th Academy Awards

Oscars 2014 is almost here! It will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Los Angeles, California at the Dolby Theatre. Here’s more Oscar 2014 news. The Oscars 2014 producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron hinted at the highlights of the 86th Academy Awards including the performers, host Ellen DeGeneres and the star-studded presenters such as Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Amy Adams and Bradley Cooper to name a few.

According to Deadline, Zadan and Meron promised that the 2014 Oscars will be “an especially moving evening.” The much anticipated awards ceremony will reportedly honour heroes, whether they are real-life, animated or fictional movie heroes.

Contact Music mentioned that Zadan and Meron also produced the 2013 Oscars with controversial host Seth McFarlane. It was a surprise hit with about 40.3 million viewers in the U.S.

Because of their success in 2013, they were invited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to come back as producers for Oscars 2014.

However, despite their success in 2013 with McFarlane, the duo still decided to be less controversial with their choice of Ellen DeGeneres as the Oscars 2014 host.

As for the musical performances throughout the show, it has been announced previously that Idina Menzel will do a song number as well as Pharrell Williams, U2, Karen O, Pink and Bette Midler.

The news of Midler being included in the roster of performers at the 86th Academy Awards was reported by Deadline. This will be Midler’s first time to perform at the Oscars that’s why it shouldn’t be missed. Midler even asked her followers on her official Twitter account on what she will sing at the 2014 Oscars.

Aside from Midler, Pink’s performance is expected to be amazing as well. Zadan and Meron said that it will be a “highly anticipated moment.”

With regards to the Oscars 2014 presenters, the producers also announced the full list which includes Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Kim Novak and Sidney Poitier. It also includes the winners from the 2013 Oscars which are Jennifer Lawrence (Best Actress in a Leading Role – “SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK”), Christoph Waltz  (Best Actor in a Supporting Role – “DJANGO UNCHAINED”), Anne Hathaway ( Best Actress in a Supporting Role – “LES MISÉRABLES”) and Daniel Day-Lewis (Best Actor in a Leading Role – “LINCOLN”).
