“Outlander” Season 1 ended, well in Tobias Menzies’ Black Jack Randall case being trampled by a herd of cows. The upcoming Starz “Outlander” Season 2 still doesn’t know Black Jack’s fate but stars Sam Heughan and Cairtiona Balfe gave us some details.
In “Outlander” Season 2, Menzies will play Frank again, which will be a great change for his co-stars Heughan who plays Jamie and Balfe who plays Claire.
During the SDCC 2015, Heughan said, “I mean, he’s such a nicer man as Frank, isn’t he?” While Balfe said, “It was great to play some of that Frank and Claire stuff again. I always enjoy it. It’s just very different. It’s a very different relationship than Claire and Jamie have, and it was great scenes. It’s nice not to be around the perilous Black Jack Randall, for sure.”
To refresh your memory, we never got to see Frank in “Outlander” Season 1 after Claire wasn’t able to return to him through the stones at Craigh na Dun. On the other hand, the last scenes of Black Jack were shockingly brutal and when Frank comes back, it would be very different for Claire and Frank because clearly, Frank isn’t THAT bad at all.
Heughan also added, “He’s a lot more chatty over a cup of coffee, isn’t he?”
Starz’s “Outlander” Season 2 will premiere some time in 2016.
