In “Parenthood” Season 6 Episode 5 “The Scale of Affection Is Fluid,” Max finally let the cat out of the bag, while Crosby and Zeek bonded. Julia was in for an unexpected turn of events in her life and her family’s. Read on for the full recap below.

Kristina and Adam dealt with Max’s crush on Dylan. Matt was thrilled and gave him some tips, while Kristina was  reluctant to encourage Max because she doesn’t think that Dylan likes him the way he does. During a family barbecue, Zeek and Crosby gave Max a few tips, including getting into specific “bases” with girls. Kristina wasn’t happy with that kind of talk, and later that day, Matt and Kristina talked to him again to discuss with him the different kinds of likes. Max got it, so the next day, he asked Dylan how much she likes him on a scale of 1-5. Max admitted that he likes her to a 5, while Dylan said she likes him to a 2. Max quickly changed his “level” and went down to 2.5. This was really adorable, and we wonder if there’s going to be something that will develop between the two of them!

Zeek, on the other hand, wasn't allowed to drive because he’s still recovering, while Crosby wasn't  allowed to ride his motorcycle. Sharing something in common, they bonded, and Crosby offered to drive his dad to his physical therapy session. After that, they went to a bar even though Zeek can’t drink, and that’s when Crosby talked about his doubts and fears. Then he got drunk that Jasmine had to pick them up. She told Zeek that she’s worried about Crosby, and Zeek said that he is too.

Amber met a new guy, and they were hitting it off. However, Drew advised her to tell the Griffin the truth — she’s pregnant. Drew explained to her that it would be unfair for the guy to know about her pregnancy on the later part of the relationship. Amber agreed, so on their second date, she told him the truth. She was disappointed that Griffin got scared away. So after that, she went to Drew’s place with some alcohol, marijuana and condoms and told him that those are the fun stuff that she couldn’t do anymore. Then again, Drew reassured her that her life is not ruined at all, and she can still do fun stuff even while she’s pregnant and after giving birth. But this time around, things will be a lot better than before.

During Julia and Chris’ date, Julia saw a mom from her kids’ school, and she quickly hid behind a tree and dragged Chris with her. She then explained to Chris that she only did that because she doesn’t want to start any rumors that the reason why she and Joel broke up was because of him. Chris, who’s definitely a nice guy, came to her house to bring over some documents for her to sign. But what he didn’t know was that some family members were there.

Adam and Kristina invited him to have a burger, while Julia’s kids finally met him, and they all liked him! While Chris and Julia’s kids were playing basketball, Joel came by, and he was furious with what he saw that he confronted Julia about this. He asked him if he’s going to be a part of his kids’ lives, but Julia can’t answer yet because she’s still unsure where the relationship is heading.

To seal the deal on how awesome Chris is, he went grocery shopping and prepared Julia a homecooked French meal just because she’s not yet comfortable to be seen in public with another man.
