Scandals, both big and small, wherever one is, and regardless of one’s celebrity, aren’t easy things to come back from, especially in the Asian Entertainment industry. Most of the time, when scandals and controversies hit, depending on the gravity of the situation, the parties involved, especially celebrities, usually lay low until the media forgets the story, and moves on to another, more current story. This is precisely what actor Park  Shi-woo did, and is currently ready to return to the small screen in a drama that will hit the airwaves sometime in early 2016. Read on to learn more about this story.

Popular Korean actor Park Shi Woo, who starred in various television projects and movies such as  “Delightful Girl Choon-Hyang” (2005), “Iljimae” (2008), “Queen of Reversals” (2008), “The Princess’ Man” (2011), and “Cheongdam-dong Alice “ (2012), and who was mired in a controversial scandal in 2013, according to K Drama Stars, is finally ready to return to the small screen. He will be starring in an OCN drama entitled “Neighborhood’s Hero,” which will air early on in 2016.

According to Soompi and K Drama Stars, the popular actor, in 2013, shortly after working on the drama “Cheongdam-dong Alice”, was dragged into a scandal, as a young actress accused him of raping her.

However, Park maintained his innocence, and later on, the charges against him were dropped.

Despite this, the actor decided to lay low for a while, and according to K Drama Stars, caused him to consider projects outside of Korea, such as the film “After Love”, which, according to Soompi, also stars “Goong” and “The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince” star Yoon Eun Hye. It is a joint collaboration between China and Korea, which is slated for release in late 2015.

According to Soompi, the actor, since last year, has been looking for a television come back project, and “Neighborhood’s Hero” is one of those that he had already been eyeing.

According to K Drama Stars,  Park will be portraying an ex-Secret Agent who opens up a local bar. He ends up becoming the mentor of a young man whom he trains, as the young man hopes to become a police officer someday.

Together, the two use their skills in order to thwart crimes in the neighborhood.

Filming is slated to begin sometime this September.
