Previously on “Partners” (“They’ve Come Together/Let’s Have A Gwedding”), Allen met Marcus at the courtroom and proposed to help him out with the latter’s divorce settlement. Even though Marcus was hesitant to work with Allen, the two ended up becoming actual partners and forming their own law firm. Marcus’ assistant brought forth a case involving his gay friends’ wedding planner, who was misrepresenting herself. The partners pretend to be gay partners to entrap the wedding planner, and they were successful in getting her sanctioned for jail time.
According to Variety, the premiere of “Partners” last week had a modest start, averaging 1 to 1.2 million viewers. Should it surpass a particular benchmark set by FX, the show will immediately receive a 90-episode order after the airing of the first ten.
