“Partners” Season 1 Episode 9 “Doug Day Afternoon” and Episode 10 “How to Get a Head in Advertising” will air on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, from 9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on FX. It’s the season finale of the show, but before we get in to that, here’s a quick recap to the last episode first.
Previously in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Butt-Ugly,” Allen’s (Kelsey Grammer) friend wanted his help to divorce his wife because she gave him an ugly baby. Marcus (Martin Lawrence) thought that this was wrong, but Allen convinced him to take the case anyway because the money they could earn from this would help fund Marcus’ charity cases.
They discovered that the baby was an in vitro baby, so the partners head to the clinic to see whether the samples were switched. But while there, they find out something else: the wife used to have such an ugly face before getting it done with plastic surgery. Hence, they are, in fact the baby’s real parents, except that the wife’s facial features are not her real features.
When the wife learned that her husband was planning on divorcing her, she turned the tables and said that she will divorce him for his appalling attitude towards their own child.
In the following episode, “Law School Reunion” Allen brought Marcus to an event so that they could mingle and network with his law school classmates. Some of them are billionaires, and this might be good for business. But while there, Allen’s attempt to impress his colleagues was a disaster. Marcus, meanwhile, made a friend, a hotshot lawyer who invited him to join his practice. He turned it down because he’s not that kind of guy.
The episode also featured the office staff dealing with a broken cable connection, which ended with such hilarious results.
