Pippa Middleton’s butt first made headlines when she wore a white hip-hugging gown while carrying her sister’s wedding train down the aisle during the royal wedding in 2011. It gained so much attention that she even won “Rear of the Year.” Could Kate’s sister be jealous of the attention given to Kim Kardashian’s derriere following her Paper cover?
In an essay penned for the weekly political UK magazine, The Spectator, Middleton acknowledged that 2014 had been a big year for Kardashian’s assets.
"No year is complete without a bottom story, and the 'Rear of 2014' award undoubtedly goes to Kim Kardashian, after her posterior exploded all over the internet last month,” the 31-year-old wrote.
Middleton also noted that hers is not comparable to Kardashian’s.
The royal sister, however, made a few comments on the real reason behind the controversial cover.
“The Kim butt story did make me pause. What is it with this American booty culture? It seems to me to be a form of obsession. Kim’s aim, apparently, was to break the internet, but I’m not sure she’s going the right way about it,” she pointed out.
Pippa’s article was published the same week that her sister and husband Prince William visited New York. The Independent previously reported that Pippa is planning a TV career in America, with the NBC network reported to be considering hiring her as a correspondent on “The Today Show.”
Despite all the criticism that the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reality star received from the provocative cover, she stressed that she was very proud of it and considered it an “art project.”
“I was so honored and excited to work with [photographer Jean-Paule Goude] because he is a legend, and for me that was something I wanted to do to make myself feel confident,” she explained on People.
