The fantasy swashbuckler film, Pirates of the Caribbean 5, is already under works. Both Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom will be reprising their respective roles. However, it is said that the upcoming installment will focus more on Bloom’s character Will Turner instead of Captain Jack Sparrow that is played by Depp. It another update, it is said that this will be the last appearance of Depp in the franchise as he will be making an exit.
According to Chatt Sports Net, Disney is planning to take Pirates of the Caribbean 5 in a new direction and will allegedly focus on the younger audience. The next sequel will focus on Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann’s son William “Henry” Turner III, who will be starred by Brenton Thwaites.
There will be another important character in the sequel, which will be played by Kaya Scodelario as Carina Smyth who will be the love interest of Turner’s son. The story will be a reboot of the entire franchise and will feature a reunion of Turner with his son.
Turner became the new Davy Jones a.k.a. captain of Flying Dutchman who can land only once in a few years due to a curse. There will be a major focus on the new characters who will possibly take the lead in the next movies, if at all they are planned.
It is even speculated that Disney might plan an animated version of the movie in the next part to explore more ideas and capture younger demographics. However, there has been no official announcement about the same yet.
There has been a major drop in the gross profit of the franchise. The first part was a massive hit and was adored by fans worldwide.
Pirates of the Caribbean 5 is scheduled for release on May 26, 2017.
