A new show has come to the USA Network and we are all so excited for this. If you want a feel-good TV series, this is definitely for you. “Playing House” is USA’s new TV show that stars Jessica St. Clair and Lennon Parham, and they are both the creators of the show, too!
To make it even better? They’re going to play BFF’s in the show and did we mention that they are real life BFF’s, too?
The story is about Maggie, played by Parham who is pregnant and then her life suddenly falls apart. And then her childhood best friend, played by St. Clair enters the picture and helps her through this particular stage of her life.
Before they created “Playing House,” they were in “Best Friends Forever” on NBC which was short-lived and underrated, but even though it didn’t last that long, both have gained fans that are so excited to see them both together again on TV!
And since this is a comedy TV show, and both stars are the creators of the show, viewers will later then notice that their whole writing process is very different. Both stars have a background in the Upright Citizens Brigade.
In a USA interview, “Lennon and I have a weird writing process, which is that we improvise all of the scenes and we tape-record ourselves. We transcribe that, and that becomes the basis for the first episode. Now that we have a writer’s room, we’ve filled it with amazing improvisers. Lennon plays all the men, and I got to tell you, she does a very convincing man and sometimes says things to me that I wish a man had said to me in my dating life, but never did,” said St. Clair.
It looks like both stars can make this show stick! In fact, we have a feeling that this is going to be a hit, something lighthearted with so many TV shows that involve supernaturals, violence, and other stuff. This is definitely something different and we all know we need that!
“Playing House” aired their first episode, April 29, 2014.
