“Playing House” Season 1 Episode 3 “Unfinished Business” Recap:

“Unfinished Business” opens with Maggie and Emma watching a scary movie, “Silence of the Lambs.” Bruce suddenly shows up wearing his goalie mask to scare both of them. Later in the day, Emma came across her mom and it was so cold. Both of them haven’t had the best relationship ever since Emma left home. Emma realises that the awkward feeling that she feels towards her mother is mutual and as much as she wants to avoid confrontation, she approaches her mom. She found out that her mom has moved on when Emma stopped calling her.

This hurt Emma and since her mom writes poems for a certain poetry class, she decided to infiltrate it and there, her mom recited a poem about a dumpling, which is a representation of her relationship with her daughter.

When they return home from the poetry class, they found out that Bruce still hasn’t moved his stuff out of the house. They looked for Bruce and Maggie found him on a park bench. They talked about their divorce and it wasn’t just about the cheating, but other small things that caused the failure of their marriage.

As for Emma, she finally swallows her pride and admitted that she wants to have a relationship with her mom. They talked and after a very awkward conversation, they share a hug. It may not be a loving relationship but at least it’s something.

In “Playing House” Season 1 Episode 3 “Unfinished Business,” we saw that Emma and Maggie’s friendship is the rock of this show and we hope that it continues to be that way.
