Ever since the first season of BBC One’s “Poldark” ended, fans and viewers of the BBC One drama, which has since then aired on PBS Masterpiece, have been wondering what will happen next to the strong willed captain and mine owner, Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner), and his good and strong-willed wife, Demelza Poldark (Eleanor Tomlinson). However, fans of the show will not be waiting for long to hear more regarding what will happen next to Poldark and his family, as the show begins filming its second season this week, and as Aidan Turner and the brains behind the show, such as the higher ups in BBC, are determined to bring more of his and Demelza’s story to light in the years to come. Viewers and fans of “Poldark” were left worried after discovering that Ross Poldark (Aidan Turner). It was after everything that he had just been through, such as almost losing his wife and losing his baby daughter, would still have to suffer a little bit more. Then end of the first season saw Poldark getting arrested by the local police as he had helped the poor villagers in his area gather up the goods that had washed up on the shore of their beach, from the shipwrecked ship that belonged to Poldark’s rival.
However, instead of honoring tradition, that whatever goes ashore on a particular area’s beach is theirs for the taking, Poldark’s rival, determined on destroying him, had him arrested, much to the grief of his wife, Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson).
Unfortunately, not much has been said regarding what will happen next to Poldark, Demelza and the others, but other news has come to light that will delight fans of the series.
First off, according to the Daily Mail Online (UK Edition), fans and viewers of the “Poldark” saga by Winston Graham, on which the series is based on, and fans of the show, might be seeing more of “Poldark” in the years to come, as a BBC executive has stated that the series might extend beyond the show’s already ordered second season, and might include material from all twelve books in the “Poldark” saga.
Turner, the star of the series, in an interview with The Huffington Post, with whom he shared his process in preparing for a role such as Poldark, also told them that the second season will have more two more episodes than usual. It means that instead of eight episodes, the second season will have ten episodes under its belt.
Also, it was recently announced, via Twitter, that surprisingly, the first four episodes of the season, which will already begin to film, will be directed by one director- “EastEnders’” and “Misfits’” Will Sinclair.
Proud to announce that episodes 1-4 of Poldark II will be directed by Will Sinclair!
