‘Power Rangers’ Movie Update: Singer Becky G to Play Yellow Ranger

After finalizing the names of Red, Black, Pink and Blue rangers, the makers of the upcoming “Power Rangers” movie have added another update and that too in the form of singer Becky Gomez aka Becky G by casting her as the Yellow Ranger, which means now we have all the five rangers on board. The confirmation related to Becky G’s name has come through the Facebook/Twitter and Instagram pages of the movie.

“Becky G is going to be bringing the action as the ‪#‎YellowRanger in the Power Rangers Movie! Let the countdown to 2017 begin,” the statement said.

By lending herself into acting, Becky G will add another feather to her multi-talented skill set of rapping/singing and song-writing.

If we talk about any confirmation from the side of the singing star then just after the revelation from the side of the makers, Becky G also took to her Twitter page and wrote, “My favorite color is yellow. It’s like it was meant to be.”

As we already know that the first to join the “Power Rangers” cast was Naomi Scott who will be seen playing the character of Pink Ranger, after her nod for the role, names of Dacre Montgomery for Red Ranger, Ludi Lin for Black Ranger, and RJ Cyler for Blue Ranger have also been finalized by Lionsgate and Saban for their combination project.

Rumors are also rife related to the entry of Green ranger, but when and who will be seen playing that character has not been revealed yet. As per the recent speculations, this new film of the franchise will have a new look side by side omitting old and presenting new names to all the rangers. To be noted, previously the rangers were known as Jason Lee Scott, Kimberly Ann Hart, Zack Taylor, Billy Cranston, and Trini Kwan. Collider revealed that $35 million range is set for the budget of the movie which is slated to hit theaters on Jan. 13, 2017.
