“Powers” Season 1 Episode 2 “Like A Power” premiered last Tuesday, March 10, 2015 on the Play Station Network. In this episode, Calista Rulin became disillusioned after her hero, Retro Girl (Michelle Forbes) decided to hand her over to Detective Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) and Detective Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward). In the end, she ran back to Johnny Royale (Noah Taylor), who finally came out of hiding, much to Walker’s annoyance. Meanwhile, Krispin Stockley (Max Fowler) tired to cope with life while grieving his father’s death. Read on to learn more about this episode.

The Powers Division, who were supposed to wait for Detective Christian Walker (Sharlto Copley) before arresting Zerotron X (Linds Edwards), went ahead as he did not show up. In the process, , Detective Deena Pilgrim (Susan Heyward) made the mistake of trying to charge him with her stick, which knocked her out, as he shot out lightning bolts from his eyes.

She then went over to Detective Christian Walker’s (Sharlto Copley) apartment in order to pick him . He then told her what had happened, and told her that they had to wait for Retro Girl’s (Michelle Forbes) return call as he had left a message on her phone, as she had Calista Secor (Olesya Rulin).

They then paid a visit to Olympia’s widow, who told them that Olympia often hung out at a new “pop up club” where younger Power kids hung out. Walker then contacted Zora (Logan Browning), and when they got there, discovered the headless body of Bug (Daniel Thomas May).

After bringing him to the morgue, they discovered that Bug had no prints on him, and that his head had been teleported off.

Meanwhile, Krispin Stockley (Max Fowler) tried his best to get through his school day while mourning for his father, and found solace in Chaotic Girl, a girl whom he met and chatted with through a video game.

While this happened, Johnny Royale (Noah Taylor), who made more of the power enhancing drug, reassured Simons (Aaron Farb) that Calista wasn’t a threat, and told him to get ready for their opening night that night.

At Retro Girl’s house, Retro Girl asked Calista why she was on the roof with Walker that night. She then told her that she was a fan of hers, that she had been with Olympia the night he had died, and that Walker had pushed her off the rooftop because she wouldn’t say anything about the night Olympia had died. They were then interrupted by Retro Girl’s maid, who told her that Walker and Deena were there.

Retro Girl and Walker then awkwardly greeted each other, as they hadn’t seen each other in a long time. Then, she scolded him for trying to save Calista as he didn’t have his powers anymore. After he told her that Calista knew something about Royale who had something to do with Olympia’s death, she reassured him that she knew that Calista had been lying about why she had been with Walker that night. Calista, disillusioned by her hero, decided to run back to Royale. After they left, Retro Girl left several awkward messages on Walker’s phone, so that they could talk some more about the case.

When they got back to the precinct, Captain Cross warned Walker to keep his cool as Royale was on his desk, registering himself as a power. After Walker discovered that Royale had gotten his one and only lucky tie, which had a diamond on it, he tried to strangle him, which was recorded by Simons, so that it could be aired alongside the interview that he had done earlier that morning, in which he announced that he had returned in order to give those with powers a home to call their own. He also told the reporter that he didn’t break Wolfe (Eddie Izzard ) out of the Federal Powers Containment Facility or the Shaft, which caused many to die, as he had eaten them all.

Later that night, Royale opened his club, in which his drug was passed around. He then talked to Calista, and brought her to his secret room, and told her that she could turn him in to Walker for Bug’s death if he ever betrayed her. However, she refused to have his signed confession, and the two went back to the club.

At Walker’s apartment, Deena informed him that Dr. Death (David Ury) had found the same substance in Olympia’s DNA in Bug, and the two bonded as they had to work together to figure out what Royale was up to. After Deena had gone, Walker, listened to Retro Girl’s messages, and went to his bedroom, gun in hand, after he heard someone breaking in. He then discovered Royale, who told him to stay out of his way so that he wouldn’t get hurt. Walker then fired several shots at him, which missed, as he had disappeared.
