Blake Lively’s upcoming website has finally been given an official name. A source confirmed to E! Online that the website shall be named “Preserve” and that the launch date will be “very soon.” Specifically, the site is set to launch next week, possibly on July 23, 2014. Read on for further details about this story.
“Preserve will focus on artisans and products, many hand-made one-of-a-kind items all selected by Blake. Items will be available for purchase through the site. Preserve is all about story-telling through video. Blake will be in some of these videos,” revealed the source in the E! Online report.
“The main element of it is that it’s about storytelling and it’s about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life and how to achieve that. There’s nothing like it out there — it’s without a genre,” said Lively to Vogue.
In an interview with The Cut, Blake said she does not know whether “Preserve” should be called as a lifestyle site.
“I don’t know if it’s a lifestyle site. I was very vague about it. And because of that, everyone was filling in the blanks about what other sites it could be like. It’s not accurate. I’m creating a brand that I felt the need for.” “It’s a space I wanted that I couldn’t find anywhere else,” explained Lively in an interview with The Cut.
Preserve follows from the trend set by other famous celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow’s blog, “Goop,” and Lauren Conrad’s “The Little Market”. Other actresses who are venturing out to the same field are Reese Witherspoon, who has recently announced to launch a “multi-channel lifestyle brand” and Kate Bosworth who has revealed that she is launching a style app.
Lively is more known for her role as “Serena van der Woodsen” in The CW teen drama series “Gossip Girl” and had made appearances to films such as “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee,” “The Town,” “Green Lantern,” “Accepted” and “Savages.” Moreover, she is happily married to her “Green Lantern” co-star, Ryan Reynolds.
