“Secret Vow” after Princess Diana’s death: Prince Charles will ONLY hire all-female bodyguards for Kate Middleton. But, why? Read on to know his vow.
If you’re part of a royal family, expect that you’ll have 24/7 bodyguards everywhere you go. You will be spotted with men wearing suits who are ready to risk their lives for you, but it seems like when it comes to the Duchess of Cambridge, Middleton, there will always be an exemption—an additional mandate is reportedly handed down by Prince Charles.
The 33-year-old wife of Prince William will not have “men-in-suits” around her as Prince Charles requested that she will ONLY have female bodyguards and the reason behind this order was because of Princess Diana.
According to the report by Sunday Express, an insider from Scotland Yard’s royal protection unit, from the very start, since Middleton got engaged to Prince William, Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales decided to make the ‘women-only’ stipulation, as he didn’t want Middleton to be in a very compromising relationship with her bodyguards.

Moreover, Radar Online reported that it may seem strange for everybody considering that the royal family is used to have men as bodyguards, but for Prince Charles, he fears that Middleton may be “compromised” just like what happened to his ex-wife who had an affair with one of her bodyguards, Barry Mannakee.
Adding on, Princess Diana was recorded before by a former voice coach while admitting her affair with Mannakee and how she felt about it.
In her video, the late Princess of Wales said that she believed Mannakee, who was killed in a motorcycle accident was actually murdered as revenge for the affair, despite the Prince’s own dalliances.
“I was only happy when he was around,” Diana said. “I should never have played with fire and I got burnt.”
The accident happened eight months after he allegedly ordered to removed Mannakee in the security details.
On the other hand, Kate Middleton’s main protection officer is Emma Probert. She was assigned to Middleton after the Princess was engaged to Prince William in 2010.
