The reboot of cult favorite Prison Break will hit screens next year. Season 5 will feature characters who were previously thought dead.
Season 4 of Prison Break aired in 2009. With Wentworth Miller’s character Michael Scofield dead, the series seemed to have found its logical end. Then Miller teamed up with Dominic Purcell , his brother from Prison Break for The Flash. Rumors of a reboot started doing rounds and Miller came on board for Season 5.
With Miller on board, things started falling into place. Purcell and Sarah Wayne Callies joined the cast. Amaury Nolasco as Fernando Sucre and Rockmond Dunbar as Benjamin ‘C-Note’ Franklin will be filming new episodes too. Robert Knepper’s returns as the now suave T-Bag. Paul Adelstein as politician Paul Kellerman also makes an appearance.
William Fichtner who played Alexander “Alex” Mahone will not be returning. New faces added are Royal Pains’ Mark Feuerstein, Inbar Lavi as Lincoln’s love interest, Rick Yune as Ja – a genius identity thief, Kick-Ass 2 actor Augustus Prew, Amin El Gamal as Cyclops, Torchwood actress Marina Benedict as A&W and Kunal Sharma as Sid.
Series creator Paul Scheuring along with Dominion creator Vaun Wilmott and Mike Horowitz of Burn Notice will write 9 episodes.
Series spoiler – Michael Scofield and Paul Kellerman are not dead. Michael is in a Yemeni prison, as he has ties to terrorist organization ISIS. T-Bag informs Lincoln about Michael. Lincoln regroups the old gang and plans to bust Micheal out of prison. Sara has a son, she mourns Micheal’s death. Eventually she moves on and remarries.
According to Parent Herald, Ketterman’s role is still unclear. Whether he is a friend or foe. Sara’s relationship with Michael, after the seven year gap will be explored. It is also rumored that Lincoln will get killed while trying to save Michael.
Prison Break Season 5 will start airing in spring 2017.
