Now that “Prison Break” Season 5 will soon be aired, speculations are rife about who should take credit for the revival of the series. However, Dominic Purcell has shared that fans should thank both him and Wentworth Miller for the revival.

According to Express, Dominic Purcell claims that it was his and Wentworth Miller‘s idea to get back “Prison Break” to Fox. Fans of the series must be aware that the series was wrapped up way back in 2009. Meanwhile, both Miller and Purcell came back together for “Legends of Tomorrow” from the house of DC.

In the month of January this year, Daily Mail noted that Fox CEO Gary Newman and Chairman Dana Walden declared that this popular actions series is being revived though they did not disclose specific details of the show at that point of time.

The actor said that both he and Wentworth wanted that “Prison Break” should be revisited. They approached the studio and the proposal generated excitement among them, too. “Prison Break” has been an amazing TV show and they both feel that it will create history once again.

Dominic Purcell added that the studio might have been always eager about revisiting “Prison Break” at some point or another. But it perhaps took more time for revival as Wentworth had taken sort of semi-retirement from the show business. Perhaps Wentworth wanted to take a break and to focus exclusively on writing.

Confirmations have come from many of the familiar names that they would return for the series’ reboot. Robert Knepper and Sarah Wayne Callies seem to have signed up for their roles as T-Bag and Dr. Sara Tancredi in “Prison Break” Season 5. Filming for the reboot may begin right this month.

Although “Prison Break,” the crime action thriller, will be making a comeback within a few days, the makers are tight-lipped about the details of this series. There have been some recent reports that claim that Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) may have to face tough situations ahead for getting back Dr. Tancredi, who is the love of his life. It is speculated that the character has to face hardships as he may be suffering from amnesia. Their son may play a key role to reconcile them.
