The most anticipated film, The Promise, is an epic love story. It opens in US theaters on April 21, 2017. The plotline of this movie is set in a war zone, where the love struggles to survive amidst the odds.
The story is set in the days of Ottoman Empire and beginning of Armenian Genocide. Ana (Charlotte Le Bon) and her boyfriend Christopher Myers aka Chris (Christian Bale), live a happy life until Michael (Oscar Isaac), an intelligent medical student, enters their life. Michael’s growing attraction toward Ana affects Chris, who plays a famous photojournalist of America.
Soon another conflict arises in the film. The Ottoman Empire turns into a war zone. This brings up the question- whose love will survive? And who will crumble down in the war? Read to know more.
Oscar Isaac, Charlotte Le Bon’s Characters’ Appear in Love
Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Isaac, will play a romantic role in The Promise. He is besotted by beautiful Ana who seems to respond same feelings. In the trailer, one can see Michael gets introduced to Ana and they share a healthy rapport with each other. Slowly Michael is drawn toward her but he discovers she already has a boyfriend (Chris).
Later scenes of the trailer reveal the war zone crisis and how each character is affected by the odd situation. But the breakout of war does not seem to break-up the bond of friendship between Michael and Ana.
The growing chemistry between Ana and Michael is clearly seen. In one of the scenes of the trailer, Ana tightly hugs Michael as she is distressed from the current situation. In another scene, Michael hugs Ana in the bedroom.
Ana Loves Michael Or Chris In The Promise?
Ana, as revealed earlier, is already having a boyfriend-Chris. Christian Bale sports a long beard that gives him the perfect look for portraying a respected photojournalist.
In the trailer, Chris is not happy with Ana. He is seen saying, “She is very fond of you” to Michael. Another scene in the trailer shows Chris asking Ana if she loves him. A pensive look on Ana’s face reveals that she is not happy with her boyfriend questioning her love for him.
The trailer ends with Michael saying, “We will be in the future together,” as Ana watches him. The background score for the trailer gives chills down the spine as the lovers are seen getting separated in the war zone.

The Promise is directed by Terry George. The film includes other stars such as Shohreh Aghdashloo as Marta, James Cromwell Henry Morgenthau Sr. (former US ambassador to the Ottoman Empire during the First World War), Daniel Gimenez Cacho as Father Andreasian, Marwan Kenzari as Emre Ogan, Jean Reno as a French admiral and Angela Sarafyan as Maral, reports The Deadline.
