“Quantico” fans do not find them amidst the excitement for the first time. Instigation of thrill once again resurfaces as the ABC TV show will get a new cast member and in the form of a “Desperate Housewife”. Yes, “Desperate Housewives” star Marcia Cross will be seen playing the mother of Caleb Hass, an FBI trainee in the ABC series.
Marcia Cross’ debut in the recurring role of Claire Hass, the wife of Clayton, FBI Deputy Director and mother of the conflicted recruit has sparked up sensations for the show. The executive producer of the freshman drama series, Joshua Safran confessed to media that casting the primetime vet “was like kismet” and she remained grateful for the casting line.
Claire Haas, Caleb’s mother, was a former FBI agent just like everyone else in the family. However, now Marcia Cross’ character is a senator, reports TV Line. Well, it’s clear that there must be some reason that “Quantico” is introducing a senator. Joshua Safran previews that Claire’s powerful position in the show will look “at how the FBI interacts with the political side of the government.”
Aside from a few one-off roles, Cross hasn’t done much TV work since “Desperate Housewives” ended in 2012. By adding a political angle to the whole story, the creators of the ABC series have left fans bewildered in thinking whether the real terrorist and bomber maintains a tie to the politics, rather than religion in some way. It is being reported that Claire would discover the emotional ties she has with Caleb and Clayton and it might be a way to broaden the view of the show. Safran’s comment clearly hinted that Claire’s slot will be introduced to reckon a political connection.
Notably, the midseason finale of the ABC show will finally reveal who the real bomber is. The fact that Caleb’s mom and the real bomber’s identity are introduced in the same episode, makes us think that they are connected. Moreover, Claire Haas’ entrance on “Quantico” will stir some drama between Caleb, Clayton, and Shelby Wyatt.
“Quantico” will air its midseason finale on Sunday, December 13, at 10 p.m. EST. There are two more episodes to go before the show airs its midseason finale.
