Quicksilver Scene Confirmed For X-Men: Apocalypse

"X-Men: Days of Future Past’s" breakout character, Quicksilver, is confirmed for an appearance in the upcoming “X-men: Apocalypse.” Read on for more details on this scoop.

Brian Smrz, "X-Men: Days of Future Past" second unit director, told Newsarama that the mutant speedster will have at least a scene in the upcoming sequel “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

“Well, there will be another Quicksilver scene, which I’m looking forward to; that’ll be fun,” said Smrz on Newsrama.

Following the events of Future Past, Apocalypse resets time travel the time where the upcoming pic will see the return of James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), along with the younger versions of the classic X-Men characters. The pic will focus on the origins of the mutants and will complete a trilogy that began with “X-Men: First Class.” The pic's main baddies is assumed to be Apocalypse or his four horsemen, which were featured in the post-credit scenes of “Days of Future Past.”

Heralded as “the first one,” En Sabah Nur or Apocalypse is one of the very first mutants born in the age of ancient pharaohs in Egypt. He is both thousands of years old and a monstrous tyrant that has been a longtime foe of the X-Men. He believes that only the strongest, whether mutant or superhuman, should survive. He is the master of the Four Horsemen, of which has made several incarnations within the comic books consisting of mutants and nonmutants alike.

Filming will begin on April 2015 in Montreal where “X-Men: Days of Future Past” was also shot, with writer and helmer Bryan Singer returning to direct. “X-Men: Apocalypse” will hit the big screens on May 27, 2016, occupying the same Memorial Day slot for “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” It will be facing off against Disney’s planned “Alice in Wonderland 2,” similarly how “Days of Future Past” squared off against Disney’s “Maleficent.” The upcoming film will be directed by Bryan Singer from a script penned by Mike Dougherty, Dan Harris and Simon Kinberg.
