For the first time, actor husband and wife John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will star alongside each other in A Quiet Place. The supernatural thriller will follow a family terrorized by some kind of evil. Krasinski also co-wrote the script and will direct the movie.
A Quiet Place Movie Details
This is not the first time that Krasinski will work behind the lense. The 37-year-old previously starred in and directed the drama-comedy movie The Hollars. He was also listed as an executive producer for the Oscar-nominated movie Manchester by the Sea.
A Quiet Place is a low-budget thriller from Paramount. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods penned the script with Krasinski. Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form from Platinum Dunes will sit as producers of the movie. To recall, Platinum Dunes is the same studio that co-produced The Purge with Blumhouse Production. The Hollywood Reporter was first to break the news.
Krasinski has previously worked with Bay and Platinum Dunes. The actor collaborated with the renowned director in the 2016 drama 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi. They are also currently hard at work for the small screen adaptation of Jack Ryan for Amazon. Krasinski was cast as the titular CIA agent, a role previously portrayed by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine. The series will premiere sometime in 2018.
He will also star in the untitled Detroit project from director Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty). Meanwhile, Blunt is currently signed up as Mary Poppins in Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns.
A Family Affair
Krasinski and Blunt has been married for nearly seven years. The two met in 2008 and was engaged in Aug. 2009. They married on Jul. 20, 2010. However, this is the first time that the two will actually star in a movie or in television together. Krasinski is best known for his role as Jim in the NBC comedy The Office. Meanwhile, Blunt is a movie actress whose role in The Devil Wears Prada made her a household name. They have two children together.
According to Den of Geek, the couple have avoided working together for any project because they prefer to keep their married and work life separate. However, an unnamed source who has insider knowledge of the project claims that the two broke their own rules specifically for this movie. “[N]either wanted to pass up the film after reading the script,” the site reported.
