The “Ratchet and Clank” movie is set to premiere this 2016. Several reports claim that the film, based on the popular PlayStation 2 game of the same name, will cast the original series voice actors James Arnold Taylor and David Kaye.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the “Ratchet and Clank” movie is set to premiere on April 29, 2016. Apart from Taylor (Ratchet) and Kaye (Clank), Paul Giamatti, John Goodman, Bella Thorne, Sylvester Stallone and Rosario Dawson will also star in the highly anticipated game film.
The original “Ratchet and Clank” video game, released in 2002, follow the lives of two unlikely heroes as they try to stop a villain named Chairman Drek from destroying every planet in the Solana Galaxy. The duo, together with The Galactic Rangers, try their best to save the galaxy despite several challenges.
According to the website, producers of the “Ratchet and Clank” movie will be holding a special screening for international distributors in Cannes. Currently, the film was reportedly sold in more than 25 territories by Cinema Management Group (CMG).
Rainmaker Entertainment president and CCO Michael Heffero, in a statement, revealed that the “collaborative relationship between Rainmaker Entertainment, PlayStation, Insomniac Games” had been able to help bring the Playstation franchise to the big screen. Heffero also gave credit to the original voice actors who played a big part in bringing “Ratchet and Clank” to life.
“’Ratchet and Clank’ will delight fans with its authenticity and charm, while families everywhere will find a new family-friendly buddy duo to love,’” he said.
