Just recently, Disney’s Marvel has released the dates to their upcoming movies, followed by the films in Sony’s “Spider-Man” universe. Now, get ready for more action and comic book fun, as Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment have just announced the release dates for their nine upcoming films, which will run from 2016 to 2020. Read on to learn more about this story.

According to Variety, Warner Brothers announced the release dates of their nine new upcoming DC films last Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014. This puts them directly in competition with Disney and Marvel and Sony Pictures’ “Spider-Man” universe films.

The first release of DC will kick off in 2016, with the release of the highly anticipated “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” on March 25, 2016. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film’s release date was changed from its original release date of May 6, 2016 in order to avoid clashing with Marvel’s “Captain America 3,” which will be released on the same date. “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” will star Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman and will feature Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.

The nine other untitled films will be released on Aug. 8, 2016; June 23, 2017; Nov. 17, 2017; March 23, 2018; July 27, 2018; April 5, 2020 and June 19, 2020. Starting from the release of “Batman s. Superman: Dawn of Justice” on March 25, 2016, each year will see a total of two films being released by Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment.

The subject of the nine upcoming films are still in the air. However, according to Variety, Warner Brothers and DC Entertainment are discussing plans for a “Man of Steel” sequel, a “Justice League” movie and a “Wonder Woman” movie.
