Renée Zellweger broke the entertainment news headline last October because everyone was taken aback by her appearance. Some even claimed she looked unrecognizable. Others speculated she might have gone under the knife. Several comments circulated the internet and most of it is offensive. How did she get through that entire ruckus?
According to Entertainment Weekly, as cited by Huffington Post, she never let any of these words get her. She even admitted that she didn’t read some news during that time about her.
“What good comes from knowing that something like that happened? Less fear. Sure,” Zellweger explained.
Zellweger relied on the emotional support from family and friends while these issues are buzzing.
“All that I know about is what friends and associates would send in texts and emails. They were sending support, which means that I must have needed it, and I prefer it that way. So when people come up to me to ask ‘How did that feel?’ I don’t know, and I like it like that. I don’t know. I know it sounds pretty unlikely that a person might be able to make herself, I guess, keep clear of those words or of that experience, but I have and it takes effort. But I have succeeded.” Zellweger said.
In a report from Cosmopolitan, Zellweger became the center of attention in the Elle Women In Hollywood Awards as she walks down on the red carpet.
The same article cited People Magazine whom she shared her opinion, “I’m glad folks think I look different! I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows. My friends say that I look peaceful. I am healthy. For a long time I wasn’t doing such a good job with that.”
Renée Zellweger has just taught us it is not needed to please everyone for as long as we feel good about ourselves.
