The long wait of the fans of “Resident Evil” for decades will end soon as the movie franchise is finally coming with “Resident Evil 6” which is all set to hit the big screen in 2017. The shooting of the movie has already been started in South Africa. Read on to know more details.
There are many rumors about the title of the movie. As per reports, the movie was first supposed to come as “Resident Evil: Rising,” but now it is likely to called as “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.” This indicates that the upcoming movie maybe the last movie of the franchise.
According to Crossmap, the entire franchise of “Resident Evil” has made an overall US$915,934,664, and with the release of “Resident Evil 6,” the franchise are likely to reach the US$1 billion mark.
In an interview with IGN, “Resident Evil 6” star Ali Larter reveals about her character as Claire Redfield in the movie. She admitted during the interview that so far she knows, it is indeed the last chapter of the franchise, adding that she is not feeling disappointed that the epic series is coming to an end.
Larter said, “How many movies have this kind of fan base and get to be made six times? I think that’s extraordinary. It’s a total testament to Milla [Jovovich] and Paul.”
She also said that she was grateful to Milla and Paul for choosing her. Resident Evil is a type of movie that projects light on female power, which is yet to be trending in Hollywood. In addition, it shows the way things are changing now. Without revealing much about the plot, Larter praised the movie’s screenplay.
The supposed to be the last movie of the “Resident Evil,” franchise is expected to hit the theaters on Jan. 27, 2017.
