I love these negative headlines. The act must have given you a really funny visual of a bear mounting Leonardo DiCaprio. Did that really happen? No, but internet has a way of spreading hilarious lies about movie stars and celebrities of all inclinations. Isn’t it? Read on to get the complete scoop.
This is how it all began. Somebody at Drudge Report came up with a news story that Leonardo DiCaprio will get raped by a bear in his next movie, “The Revenant.” The report said that DiCaprio is flipped by a bear and abused twice. And according to the report, this wasn’t the end of the director’s perversity. He also makes DiCaprio’s character open up a horse’s carcass to sleep in it. Is that really a fact? The press is yet to get a confirmation from the producers on the “horse’s carcass” bit, but the “bear raping DiCaprio” story is certainly apocryphal.
“The Revenant” does have some really interesting visuals, reports ET. It is set in a cold landscape and the cold dies force Leonardo DiCaprio’s character to sleep in animal carcasses. Acclaimed director, Alejandro González Iñárritu, who has also directed the Oscar nominated “Birdman,” chose to tell a gritty story this time. DiCaprio admitted to the shoot being difficult, because they had to work in subzero temperatures. The 41-year-old actor told ET that it was “one of the most difficult things” he had ever done.
The actor also admitted to being forced to eat raw bison liver and the director was prodigious enough to capture his reaction in the film. Leonardo DiCaprio told ET, “Whether it’s going in and out of frozen rivers, or sleeping in animal carcasses, or what I ate on set, I was enduring freezing cold and possible hypothermia constantly.”
“The Revenant” opens in the theaters on December 25th.
