Richie Sambora keeps firm on his claim that he will eventually reunite with Bon Jovi, but he has denied that it would happen anytime soon.
“I’m not ruling it out, because I think I would do it a lot for the fans there, because they were so important to us,” Sambora told ABC News Radio during a recent interview. “I wouldn’t want to go out and do those long tours anymore, but … I love those guys, man, and I’m not shunning it whatsoever … Man, we had a run. Thirty years is a run.”
Sambora quitting the band two years ago came as a surprise to many fans who couldn’t decipher the reason behind his split with longtime partner and friend Jon Bon Jovi. According to ultimateclassicrock.com, the real reason for his departure was an urgent need for change. Apart from being the primary songwriter with Bon Jovi, Sambora felt tired and burnt out after spending 16 and a half months on the road for every tour. These long tours with insignificant breaks persuaded Sambora to quit.
Bon Jovi don’t seem to miss Sambora as they have continued their work on a new album titled “Burning Bridges”, set to release on August 21. Even Sambora hasn’t been on a full break though, as he has spent the time cozying with his guitarist girlfriend Orianthi, and all the while collaborating on a new solo album with her. This is his first full solo album post the break up with Jon Bon Jovi. The album’s upcoming single “Rise” is dedicated to race horse Pharoah. American Pharoah became the first horse to win the Triple Crown in more than three decades.
As much as the fans are excited by his new album, everyone is keeping tabs on his return to Bon Jovi, because that is where he ‘rockfully’ belongs.
