The 53-years-old English comedian Ricky Gervais is teaming up again with Netflix but not for any television series like “Derek” but for a comedy film titled, “Special Correspondents.”
Roughly based on the life of Brian Williams, “Special Correspondents” follows the story of a struggling radio journalist from New York City who lives an over-the-top lifestyle and is one the verge of losing his job. The story will further take turn when he fakes a report from the front lines while hiding out at a Manhattan eatery.
Along with “The Office” actor Ricky Gervais, Eric Bana will also be seen as the aforementioned journalist. Vera Farmiga, Kelly Macdonald, Kevin Pollac, Raul Castillo, America Ferrara and Benjamin Bratt are also in the main casts of the project.
Apart from acting, the seven-time BAFTA winner, Ricky Gervais has also penned the script and is currently directing “Special Correspondents” in Toronto. The second schedule of the film will take place in New York City.
Kevin Pollack is widely famous for his roles in “The usual Suspects” and “Casino.” Whereas, America Ferrara is famous for giving her voice in “How To Train Your Dragon” movies. Raul Castillo, the Texas-born actor is famous for portraying the role of Richie on HBO’s comedy drama “Looking.” Netflix has once again tried to compile the talent under one roof and with the history of Netflix showing only the original content, we are pretty excited to see what the new show has to offer.
“Special Correspondents” is deep into production and is scheduled to debut on Netflix in 2016 and if this is the official cast then this film is indeed going to be something very memorable.
