Kanye West is executive producing Rihanna’s eight studio album, R8!  During an interview with Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet before the Grammy Awards last Sunday night, the rapper revealed some major news on the much-awaited Rihanna album. Read on to learn more about it.

According to E! News, West revealed his important role in Rihanna’s latesst album. He also shared that the first single of R8, “FourFiveSeconds” was supposed to be part of his album, but when the “Diamonds” singer heard it, she said the track has to be included in her album.

“I played her my album. And I said, ‘I got a few songs with Paul McCartney’. She couldn’t get past the record. She had to have it on her album,” West explained in the E! News interview.

Unfortunately, West could not reveal any more further details when it comes to the release date of R8. Rumor has it she was supposed to debut her latest album to the Grammys but decided to give the spotlight to “FourFiveSeconds” track instead.

It’s been a while since Rihanna has released a new album. Her last one was way back in 2012 was the album “Unapologetic.” It’s no surprise that fans had been itching to hear something new from the artist. According to Paper Magazine, fans can expect Rihanna to collaborate with Ty Dollar $ign, Kieza and DJ Mustard.

Another rumor that’s circulating online is her alleged soulful collaboration with Grammy-winner Sam Smith. The new track would show off the singer’s vocal prowess, similar to what her ballad “Stay.” Perhaps the singer is trying to re-invent herself with a more laid-back vibe?
