Previously on “Lost and Found” (air date: Aug. 4, 2014), Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) investigated the case of a murdered woman. The killer fought with Jane and Tasha, a orphaned highschooler and the sole witness to the crime.
In “It Takes a Village” (air date: Aug. 12, 2014), the Boston Police Department (BPD) took the case of a mummified woman. She was found inside a basement sitting on a chair. Maura and Korstak thought that a woman dies due to natural causes or poisoning.

They also learned that the last call she received was from her stepfather named Howard, telling her that her mother died. Maura also confirmed that she died from poison hemlock. Howard brought for questioning and told the officers that Fran “broke his wife’s heart.”
Two more possible suspects were brought to the station. Fran’s gardener found her already dead body. He did not report about it because he doesn’t have a place to stay. He even gave himself a raise from Fran’s computer.
Bill, on the other hand, was Fran’s computer partner. They were building computer codes as part of their jobs. Bill was the one in the video who threatened Fran. It was after she refused to send him notes. When he went to her house, he found her dead body. He sent an anonymous tip about the crime.
Later, the BPD learned that Fran got a large inheritance from her father. No one knew about it except Bill and her family. Jane suggested that they should lie to Howard about it. It was after they found out that he killed Fran’s cancer-stricken mother.
Fran’s stepfather went to her house. He wanted to hide the poison in her house so it might look that she killed herself. Little did he know, the guys were there to arrest him.
On the other hand, Jane felt confused after hearing about the news-Tasha was still alive, but her unborn baby perished. Her mom brought her a teddy bear, but it didn’t lift up her spirits. She later went to Tasha’s room. Nurse Gwyn informed her that Tasha will be released to the foster system. Tasha did not take the news as well. She ran away, but Jane found her. The episode ended with Gwynn deciding to be Tasha’s foster parent.
