Surely, being Tony Stark is a good thing! For the second year in a row, Robert Downey, Jr., who played Tony Stark in the “Iron Man” series, has ranked as the highest paid actor in Hollywood. The star’s earnings is estimated at $75 Million for the period between June 2013 to June 2014 in Forbes’ latest ranking. Read on to find out who else topped Hollywood’s highest paid list.

Downey Jr. has become such a formidable asset to the Marvel franchises of “Iron Man” and “The Avengers.” According to Forbes, the superhero movies which the actor starred in have earned at least $4 billion at the box office worldwide, even earning more for home videos and its merchandise.  The actor also has a considerable clout in Hollywood’s circle, enabling him to do movies that have smaller budgets but gaining well at the box office.

Second place on the list is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, with estimated earnings of $52 million. These earnings mostly come from his producing projects.

Bradley Cooper is third in the ranking, with estimated earnings of $46 million. The Academy Awards nominee has become one of Hollywood’s current toast, receiving roles that have endeared him to the moviegoers with hit movies like “American Hustle” and “The Hangover.”

In the fourth place is Leonardo DiCaprio with estimated earnings of $39 million for 2014. The actor averages at least one to two movies a year only, picking his roles and projects carefully.

Other than Downey Jr., one other superhero is also on the top rankings. Chris Hemworth, who is part of the “Thor” and “The Avengers” franchises, is at number five, with estimated earnings of $37 million.

The list is based on inputs from lawyers, agents, producers and insiders who have knowledge of showbiz-related income. The compilation doesn’t include agents’ fees and tax deductions.
