Leave it to Robert Downey Jr. aka Marvel’s undisputed Prince to not keep any secrets with him and just spill it out at a go. The recent spill is a little information confirming Spider-Man’s appearance in the movie. Until now all we have known is Tom Holland was confirmed for “Captain America: Civil War,” but what his character will be up to was not known.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel has never really revealed from which movie will they be using Tom Holland’s Spider-Man even after casting him and confirming his solo movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since associates at Marvel are obligated to not say anything at all, getting any information out becomes even more difficult. But when you have a star like Robert Downey Jr., who just goes ahead and talks about the character, you can decipher to some extent what the web slinger will be doing.
In true Tony Stark style, Robert spoke about Spider-Man being in the movie and what possibly he might be doing. It all happened when the media outlet was on the sets of “Captain America: Civil War” and they happened to see a large battle scene involving multiple characters from the movie being shot. What was so special about this sequence was that there was a young man probably a stunt double wearing a very known and noticeable red and blue suit standing by the side.
Few moments later off-camera, Robert came walking by keeping an arm of one of the young man’s shoulders and when he actually got down to talking, he mentioned Spider-Man. According to the “Captain America: Civil War” star, his character and Don’s War Machine feel like old canons now that they have so much history behind them in MCU, but he also spoke about the newer characters like Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Ant-Man and Spider-Man.
Having a Spider-Man stunt double in an action sequence does confirm that the web slinger will be having a major part to portray in the upcoming movie before he goes on to his solo movie. The reason why his first look or any other detail not known yet is because Marvel really wants fans to see the character straightaway on screens.
Cinema Blend added that Tom Holland was also spotted on the sets of the movie wearing a Spider-Man costume and until now Spider-Man was only confirmed to have a presence in his solo movies.
“Captain America: Civil War” will release next year on May 6th.
