Does Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr. ring a bell? It doesn’t make a lot of sense, does it? It did; back in 1984.
It isn’t uncommon for actors to meet on the sets and fall in love. Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr. aren’t an exception to the notion at all. The Sex And The City actress and the Iron-Man actor met on the sets of Firstborn and fell in love with each other. Additionally, the relationship went on for a good seven years before they went separate ways.
People caught up with Sarah Jessica Parker and got the actress talking about her past. The questions went on about Downey eventually and she spoke about it definitively. The actress said that the relationship was more or less like a parenting experience. Downey was vehemently abusing drugs at that point and her presence certainly made it less painful.
On the other hand, Downey also holds Parker in high regard. Matter of fact, he had a few nice things to say about the relationship and its importance. The Avengers actor made a confession about being out of his mind during the course of seven years too. What does Sarah Jessica Parker think about the relationship?
Parker thinks the Robert affair taught her how to love. A bold statement considering that she was in love with a maniac then, but she knows what she’s talking about. Furthermore, she emphasizes on the relationship’s lessons on caring, the do’s and dont’s, necessities and love in its true sense.
Sarah Jessica Parker went on to marry Matthew Broderick in 1997 and has three children with him. She made a reference on her son James in the interview while explaining the lessons learned in the bitter relationship. Downey went on to achieve greater things after getting his act together and he’s one of the highest earning actors today.
Both Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr. are different people today. They have successful careers and their establishment in show business is robust. The fact that the actors are holding each other in good regard is commendable. They’re an anomaly in the industry full of acrimonious relationships and mutually hostile actors, to say the truth.
