Veteran Australian entertainer Rolf Harris is facing three new sex assault charges that involve two new alleged victims, with one being a girl aged “seven or eight” at the time. These new charges date back to the 1960s through to the 1980s.
The 83-year-old Harris was previously accused of 13 charges, including six counts of indecently assaulting a 15-year-old girl in 1980 and 1981 and three counts of indecent assault of a 14-year-old girl in 1986. He was aslo facing four counts of making indecent images of a child in the first half of last year. It means Rolf Harris will now be facing 16 separate charges in total.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said in a statement that they’ve added a further three allegations of indecent assault against Harris. And that the alleged offences relate to one existing complainant and two new complainants.
Harris hasn’t yet commented on the allegations since his name first came in the press in April. However, his lawyer told that the entertainer would plead not guilty.
