When it comes to best laid plans and best kept secrets, none has pulled it off better than Amazon Prime’s newest series, “Hand of God”, as Ron Perlman’s involvement in the series had to be kept quiet for quite some time. However, now that the cat is out of the bag, the “Sons of Anarchy” and “Hellboy” actor, along with the cast, director, and show creator, spilled the beans on one of the best kept secrets in television history to date. Read on to learn more about this story.

During the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con, the cast and creative team of Amazon Prime’s newest series, “Hand of God”, talked with Michael Ausiello of TV Line, in TV Line’s Hard Rock Hotel interview room, regarding what to expect in this explosive new series, and how they had managed to keep actor Ron Perlman’s involvement with show a secret, until his involvement with “Sons of Anarchy” ended.

According to the interview, show writer and creator Ben Watkins told Ausiello that it felt like “having a child” that you couldn’t talk about, as Ron Perlman’s character in “Sons of Anarchy” hadn’t died yet, and out of respect for Perlman and for the show.

Perlman then mentioned that even before his character, Clay Morrow, had died on “Sons of Anarchy”, he had already been involved with “Hand of God” in the early stages of its development, when they were still pitching the series to other networks. Thankfully though, they did manage to land on Amazon Prime.

According to Perlman, he dove right into another television gig, as he felt that television, as of the moment, was at its peak, and as this show was clearly, from the start, a very different and original show, which he had gotten excited about.

“Originality”, according to his interview with Variety during the Monte Carlo TV festival last June, is how television shows can outdo each other, and how a show can gain an audience. He also mentioned that it is a very exciting especially as known filmmakers like Ridley Scott, are having television projects as well.

According to Cinemablend, the actor was quoted to have said, during the San Diego Comic-Con, that “Hand of God” is a show that no one has seen the likes of before.

“Hand of God”, stars Ron Perlman as Judge Pernell Harris, a corrupt and powerful man, who, after a breakdown after his son attempted to commit suicide, suddenly became Born Again, and claimed to hear voices from his comatose son, which he believed came from God.
