It was especially since there has been no news as to whether the series will be renewed or not, fans of the Canadian police drama are left to wonder whether or not their favorite cops will be back. The show’s Season 6 ended on Canadian television last Wednesday, July 29, 2015, on Global, with happy endings, and with several nods as to what might happen if a season seven will happen.

Despite all the difficulties and challenges thrown their way, Officer Andy McNally (Missy Peregrym) and Detective Sam Swarek (Ben Bass) finally walked down the aisle and said their wedding vows to each other.

Detective Traci Nash (Enuka Okuma), despite losing Detective Steve Peck (Adam MacDonald), who was currently incarcerated on corruption charges, got promoted and is now the head of Guns and Gangs, while Oliver Shaw (Matt Gordon), took back the white shirt as he became their Staff Sergeant once more.

Officer Dov Epstein (Gregory Smith), now a detective in training, got back together with Officer Chloe Price (Priscilla Faia), who together with Andy, Officer Chris Diaz (Travis Milne). Officer Gail Peck (Charlotte Sullivan) are now Training Officers, and Officer Nick Collins (Peter Mooney) left for Vancouver to pursue a relationship with Officer Juliet Ward (Erin Karpluk). However, the only one who didn’t get a “fairy tale” ending was Gail. He lost her brother, in a manner of speaking, and gave up on her dream on adopting little Sophie.

In a way, according to showrunner Cameron, who recently sat down with TV Junkies to talk about the sixth season, the sixth season finale managed to tie up loose ends. She said that if it was a series finale, it would give the viewers and fans the satisfaction they needed. However, Cameron herself will not be back for a seventh time, if a seventh season does happen. She is passing the baton to “Rookie Blue” co-executive producer and writer, Sherry White, which has been confirmed in reports on The Chronicle Herald and other sources.

Cameron, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stated that she knew that she is leaving the show in capable hands as White, according to her, is the “beating heart” of the romance between Andy and Sam.

The “Rookie Blue” showrunner has teased about it in her interview with TV Junkies. She said that White has an interesting plan for the characters if there will be a seventh season, Cameron has seen scripts and details of the first few episodes of the seventh season if there will be one. She also teased that White will be adding several new characters into the mix for the upcoming season.

With regards to Nick Collins’ character, Cameron told TV Junkies that she doesn’t believe that Nick is gone for good and hopes that he will still be seen in the upcoming season.
