Following the announcement of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm’s return, another important “X-Men: First Class” character will return for Apocalypse. Read on to know more about this update.

Simon Kinberg, producer and screenwriter of the “X-Men” film franchise confirmed that actress Rose Byrne’s character as Moira MacTaggert will return in the newest “X-Men” film, “X-Men: Apocalypse,” 20 years since she first met the X-Men.

Kinberg told Entertainment Weekly that Byrne’s character in the movie is essential.

“We ended First Class with Charles having wiped portions of her memory of her experience with the X-Men. They are, essentially, strangers to her when she meets them” added Kinberg.

CIA agent Moira MacTaggert was Charles Xavier’s love interest in “X-Men: First Class,” and she also helped him protect the mutants. Kinberg revealed some interesting twist between Xavier and Moira’s relationship, which he said will become deeper. Now how could this happen if Moira’s memory about the “X-Men” was erased? Let’s wait and see.

In the “Apocalypse,” the timeline has been reset and reintroduction of some significant characters will take place. The younger versions of these characters will be portrayed by Sophie Turner as Jean Grey, Tye Sheridan as Cyclops and Alexandra Shipp as Storm. “Inside Llewyn Davis” actor Oscar Isaac will portray the role of the villain Apocalypse. The character arcs of young Xavier, Mystique, Magneto and Beast will also be completed in this third installment. However, the other mutants could still turn up in the expanded X-Men universe featuring Deadpool and Gambit.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” will complete the trilogy which started with “First Class.” It was set in the Reagan era, which Kinberg admitted as close to his heart. Kinberg was also asked if Dazzler would appear in the movie since his character was introduced to “X-Men” comics in the ‘80s. The producer just said it could happen.

Apocalypse, which will be directed by Bryan Singer, is set for filming this April, with the initial release date on May 27, 2016. With interesting plot and characters, X-Men: Apocalypse is sure to be another box office hit. What do you think?
