“Royal Pains,” the medical drama series by Andrew Lenchewski and John P. Rogers, wrapped its season 7 in July 2015. The series was renewed for season 7 and season 8 in 2014 only. Since, no USA series has run for more than eight seasons, the assumption of “Royal Pains” ending after season 8 makes sense.
The show’s co-creator and co-showrunner Andrew and co-showrunner Michael Rauch also think the same and are happy that it at least saw the light for short season 7 and 8. The whole cast and crew of “Royal Pains” is going through a ‘bittersweet’ feeling. During their interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lenchewski and Rauch said that they are happy that the end has not yet been announced and they had their doubts regarding renewals at some or the other stage.
The showrunners shared very interesting insights about the “Royal Pains” season 8 plot. In the finale of Season 7, we saw that Divya will be going through a whole life change, as now her grandmother has passed away and Hank bumps into his ex girlfriend. There are strong speculations that Hank will end up with his ex but so are the chances of Hank finding a new love interest.
Michael Rauch puts it as, “It’s a big part. Divya has Sashi, and Evan has Paige … we’ll be having some fun with Jeremiah, Boris has Marisa and Carlos, and … Hank is the person who has everyone, and yet at the same time, no one in his life is as fulfilling as the partners the other characters have.”
According to CarterMatt, Jeremiah would return for “Royal Pains” Season 8 and even though, in finale of season 7, Divya is proposed by Raj, many still hope that she ends up with Jeremiah. The speculated “Royal Pains” Season 8 Premiere Date is somewhere in summer 2016.
