“Royal Pains” has been renewed by the USA network for another season. The season is going to be only eight episodes long. The producers are already planning a series finale.
The USA network series “Royal Pains” may be cancelled after the upcoming season, season 8. The show was signed on to continue for two eight-episode seasons in 2014, but the producers are reportedly already planning to end it with a series finale at the end of the season 8.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, producers Michael Rauch and Andrew Lenchewksi made it clear that they were working on a series finale that would be impressive and unforgettable. Lenchewski said that they were still coming to terms with the fact that the series was finally coming to an end, but they were determined to make the finale the best episode in the show.
The producers revealed that although they felt disheartened that the series was coming to an end, the producers were incredibly grateful to the USA network for giving them the opportunity to continue for eight more episodes in the final season. Lenchewksi also told the press that they would like to share with the viewers the vision of how the series might end. There are multiple story arcs to consider and they want to show how Hank (Mark Feurstein), Evan (Paulo Costanzo), Paige (Brooke D’Orsay), Divya (Reshma Shetty) and Boris’ (Campbell Scott) story arcs will ultimately tie together in the end. He added that they were excited to show the series finale to the fans.
Ben Shenkman has been signed on to reprise his role as Dr. Jeremiah Sacani in the next few episodes. There are rumors afoot that both Hank and Jeremiah will eventually find true love in season 8. Although the viewers saw Raj (Rupak Ginn) propose to Divya in the season finale of season 7, many have speculated that she will end up with Jeremiah eventually.
