The highly anticipated sequel of “Blade Runner” is said to be directed by “Sicario” fame Denis Villeneuve and not Ridley Scott who originally directed the neo-noir science fiction in 1982. It was revealed earlier this year that “The Notebook” star Ryan Gosling has bagged an undisclosed role in the sequel. Read on to find out more interesting revelation on Ryan Gosling starrer “Blade Runner” sequel scoop ahead.
According to Collider, 35-year-old Gosling stated in an interview that “Blade Runner” will be his next upcoming project. While he does not reveal any single detail about the sequel, he mentioned that he was not allowed to reveal single information beyond that.
Initially, Scott was rumored to direct the sequel, however, last year he stepped down to his role as producer only. He recently revealed that “Prisoners” director Denis Villeneuve was never his first choice for the sequel, instead there was someone else whom he wanted to direct the sequel, though he never mentioned who his first choice was.
The sequel also includes cinematographer Roger Deakins who has received multiple Oscar nominations for various movies. Gosling will star along with Harrison Ford in the role of Rick Deckard. Even though Ford will not be the main focus in the movie, he has a pivotal character in the sci-fi classic.
The sequel is set in the time leap of decades after the original featuring a dystopian universe. It is speculated that Ryan Gosling will be seen in a lead role of the “Blade Runner” sequel.
As far as now, nothing much is revealed on remaining cast, plot and speculated release dates of “Blade Runner” sequel.
