In her latest viral video, the comedian Sarah Silverman is saying goodbye to her lady parts, “Isles and Rizzoli,” opting the most practical way which it to be a “dude.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, Equal Payback Project has released the satirical video starring Silverman as part of a fundraising campaign for shedding light on the gender wage gap. It was said that the fundraiser aims to help the National Women’s Law Center, “a non-profit organization which is fighting for equal pay through legislation, advocacy and accountability.”
Every year the average woman loses around $11,000 to the wage gap, over the course of a career that’s nearly half a million in lost wages. The crowdfund aims to collect at least $29,811,746,430,000 in donations. According to the said “payback project,” the target sum of donations is equivalent to “the wages lost to the gap by the 69 million women in the workplace.”
Silverman’s latest appearance on TV is for the second episode of “Saturday Night Live”ls (SNL)” 40th season where she returned to as host. She was joined by musical guest Maroon 5 who has already appeared four times on the show. Silverman was a cast member of the show from 1993 to 1994 and debuted as host on last Saturday’s episode. One of the highlights of that weekend was Silverman’s impersonation of the late Joan Rivers, where Silverman and the cast made a skit when Rivers arrives in heaven.
Silverman was a writer and occasional performer for 18 weeks on “SNL” and starred in and produced “The Sarah Silverman Program,” which ran from 2007 to 2010 on Comedy Central. She has also starred in films including “Who’s the Caboose?”” School of Rock”, “Wreck-It Ralph” and “A Million Ways to Die in the West.”
